ABB expands North American air-core reactor market

ABB and Quality Power enter into exclusive agreement to expand North American air core reactor market

ABB today announced that it has completed an exclusive agreement with Quality Power for the supply of

Air Core Reactors to ABB customers in North America.

The ABB Capacitor and Filter product team in Quebec City will immediately begin to provide proposals and support

for these reactors, expanding the product offering to include transmission shunt reactors, current limiting inrush reactors,

harmonic filter reactors, and grounding reactors.

"This agreement allows ABB to expand its product offering and leverage the synergy between reactors and capacitors

to enhance system efficiency, power quality, and reliability," said Pier-Andre Rancourt, General Manager, ABB Capacitors

and Filters, North America.

In addition, Quality Power complies with ABB's Supplier Sustainability Development Program, ensuring that sustainability

standards are met throughout the supply chain.

The Air Core Reactors feature ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHAS 18000 approved manufacturing, IEEE C57 and IEC 60076-6

compliance, epoxy encapsulated cylindrical design, +/- 0.5% tuning tolerance, and aluminum or copper winding options for low

losses and lightweight design.ABB will showcase the Air Core Reactor solution at the 2016 IEEE PES Conference and Exhibition

in Dallas, at booth #5216.
